Baked Rosemary Lemon Chicken With Tips

Rosemary lemon chicken recipe so simple to make and delicious! I live in the USA and we have almost in every store available already baked rosemary lemon chicken. I like this combination of spices for chicken and decided to add to my website recipes. You can use other spices as well in the recipe for the marinade. If you would like to make even better taste, add melted butter to oil. Not healthier but much better taste!

*A well-known fact, whole chicken baked on the bone, has better flavor than smaller boneless pieces.

Ingredients:

1 chicken

1/4 cup vegetable oil

4 cloves of garlic

2 lemons

1 onion

Black pepper to taste

Salt to taste

Cooking Direction:

  • Preheat oven to 350Fº or 180Cº

    1. Wash and dry chicken well with pepper towels. Season with salt and pepper.

2. To press garlic for the marinade I use cheesecloth. What I have left from pressing garlic, I use to flavor inside the chicken. The reason is garlic burns so fast, so best is just garlic juice for outside chicken.

3. Making marinade. Add to oil chopped rosemary, lemon juice from 1/2 lemon, and garlic juice from 4 cloves.

4. Rubbing outside and inside chicken with the marinade. Place in refrigerator for 1 hour.

5. Cut into segments and place lemon and onion inside the chicken for flavoring. Tie chicken legs with foil or rope. You can skip this step, it is only for chicken appearance.

*Don’t use foil to cook in, if food includes acid! I use foil instead rope, but where I use foil it not edible anyway.

6. Bake 20 minutes for every pound (350ºF). Chicken is done when juices run clear. For juices check inner thigh area. Let rest chicken for 20 minutes before serving.

* Insert meat thermometer in the inner thigh, the temperature must be at least 175ºF
