The Technique Butterfly Table Napkin Folding
What Size Napkins To Use
I used a 17″ square napkin in the photos. We can use any size napkin as long it is square.
Butterfly linen napkin fold step by step
- Fold the napkin in four as shown in the photo below. Then the top corner (2) folds in two into a triangle and the bottom corner (1) folds the same way on the bottom.
2. The napkin should look the same on the top and the bottom.
3. Holding the center make pleats towards the corner.
4. Turn around and make pleats on the other side starting from the center.
4. Turn the napkin towards yourself this way, as I show in the photo.
5. On the sides we have 4 wings and this is the right time to spread them as beautifully as possible. The center I bent toward the bottom and this holds the whole butterfly when we place it in wine or champagne glasses.
