The poinsettia napkin fold is a stunning and festive addition to your Christmas table decor. In this step-by-step tutorial, I show the design using white and red napkins for inspiration in my Christmas table ideas. Still, you can easily customize it with different colors to match your holiday or party theme.

While it looks like a complex napkin fold, it’s very simple to unfold for your guests, making it practical and elegant. This impressive and adorable napkin transformation is a fantastic way to elevate your holiday table and wow your guests this Christmas!

Tip: We can fold napkins halfway a few days in advance of the event (check out the video at the bottom of the page for details, which I show in the example).

Napkin To Use For Poinsettia Fold

I used a 17 x 17-inch cotton napkin for the photos, but it can be any size as long as it squares.

*If your napkin is silky or has fine fabric, napkins need to be starched to hold a poinsettia shape.

  1. Fold towards the center all 4 corners.

2. Then fold the corners towards the center of the napkin again.

3. Place the plate on the top of the napkin and flip the plate over.

4. Fold the corners towards the center.

*in this step we can place napkins between plates a few days before the event. Most plates leave after storage on the folded napkin round footprint but it does not affect the design (watch my video at the bottom of the page, I show there in the example)

5. With the left hand hold the center and with the right hand pull the corner out. Gently pull the corner outside, so it looks like a kind of boat.

6. With the left hand hold the center of the whole napkin and with the right hand pull the corners out.

The poinsettia cloth napkin fold is the perfect decor for a Christmas table!
