Why I Like My Collapsible Splatter Guard

I have 3 splatter guards and going to share my personal opinion, experience, and of course, my favorite collapsible splash splatter guard so far. Every time I fry something like meat or fish that splatters impossible to avoid grease on the stove. I try to find a solution to how I can reduce cleaning my stove.

My first splash stopper was a stopper screen made from mesh. Stops some splashes but I use it very seldom because I didn’t fund it so effectively and cleaning is not easy because of the metal mesh. I bought it a few years ago another one. The metal cover with mesh in the middle, as seen in the photo, and the center works better than my first one to stop splashes but I am still not satisfied.

I just recently bought my favorite splatter guard. It is not perfect and I see splatters after cooking but it works much better than my other ones for me. The collapsible splatter guard helps to reduce grease around the stove. In the photos below you don’t see any splatters but in real life, some splatters will be around. Of course, the amount depends on what you cook. The benefit of the opening of the splash stopper is the ability to add other ingredients without opening the top of the whole skillet.

I read from people online, we can mix food in the skillet from the opening of the splatter guard food in the skillet. I tried and it didn’t work for me well because of the steam heat.

A great substitute for a splatter guard is a colander made out of metal. Of course, if you have the right size colander to cover your frying pan.

1. What Size Of Skillets Collapsible Splatter Guard Fits?

Collapsible splatter guard fit skillets size from 10 inches to 12.5 inches. However, one of my skillets, it is not fit right because of the handle of the skillet. So if you don’t have many skillets as I do consider this factor before buying a collapsible splatter guard. I have a very old skillet and love to cook in it but this splatter guard doesn’t fit it. When it perfectly fits on the front, it has not covered an area of about 1 inch next to the handle. Look at photos N1 and N2. If I move forward, it fits great where is handled but has not covered area on the front. Look at photo N3.

  • It’s made of durable silicone material.
  • It has a built-in handle for easy removal from the pan.
  • It’s dishwasher safe.

2. Washing Collapsible Splatter Guard

My collapsible splatter guard convenient to wash, we don’t need much space. However, if we leave unfold in the dishwasher splatter guard it takes so much space as you can see on the photo but better quality of cleaning. I wash most of the time in the dishwasher, very seldom hand wash.
