How To Decorate Banana Bread Ideas And Recipe
How to decorate banana bread is not so many easy options. My most favorite and easy is just sprinkling with sugar powder and my banana bread is going to become also a fancy banana bread because of the contrast between sugar powder and dark bread. Very important sprinkle sugar powder on cold bread or sugar will be melted. In the photo, I use a different pan to make my banana bread and decorated with sugar powder. Because we serve it from upside down, very important to have a smooth surface without cavities. Just tap slightly on the table the pan so the dough settles down well.

Easy and Tasty Banana Bread Recipe Without Sour Cream
The best banana bread recipe I ever tried. It is so easy to make and so far winner by taste in my family. I tried some more complicated recipes and so far this simple is the winner in my family! We don’t need to use a mixer, just mix with a spatula and place in the oven. It always comes out moist on the inside and crispy on the outside, if I use my metal baking pan. Yummy, yummy! Give a try to this recipe! I gave away a few loaves of bread and received only compliments. Great classic American banana bread recipe!
Banana Bread Ingredients:
- 3 very raip banana
- 1/3 cups melted butter (unsalted)
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 cup of flour
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
The best bananas for the recipe are frozen overripe bananas. I know, looks not great but as the ingredient the best! I tried different recipes with frozen bananas and frozen comes out better than just overripe. Actually, great for our budget too! We just throw overripe bananas in the freezer instead of trow away. When we are ready for banana bread to make. Give bananas 1 hour to defrost. I know, looks not great but is a great ingredient for tasty banana bread!
Direction:
Turn on oven 350ºF or 180ºC
- Mash 3 bananas with a potato masher. 1 1/4 cups of mashed banana.
*If you don’t have a potato masher use a fork instead.
2. Add to banana mixture 1/3 cup of melted butter and mix with a spatula.
3. Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt. I adding salt to the wet mixture so it has time to dissolve.
* The tip from a great baker I follow all my life. Add a pinch of salt to any cake batter even the recipe doesn’t have salt. The cake tastes better.
4. Add slightly beaten egg.
*I sometimes add the whole egg and mix in with a spatula. Always beat egg in a separate bowl because if something wrong with the egg, you not going to spoil all batter.
5. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla.
6. Add 1 cup of sugar.
7. Add 1 teaspoon of soda.
8. Add 3 cup of sifted flour. Leave out 2 tablespoons of flour to mix with pecans.
*Flour we sifted to enrich with air. Sifted flour better incorporate with ingredients.
9. Mix 1 tablespoon flour with pecans before adding to batter. Coated with flour pecans are combining evenly in bread better.
10. Grease with butter your bread pan. Add batter to pan.
*I used a metal bread pan 5″ x 10″ Hight 3″
11. Bake 1 hour 350ºF or 180°C. Check with a wooden stick for boneless, it must come out dry.
12. Cool off for 10 minutes and it will be much easier to take out of the bread pan.
Tasty banana bread!
We can serve with butter on it or with ice cream or with sweetened condensed milk on the top.
It is up to your taste. It is good by itself too with a cup of tea or coffee!
Another way to decorate the banana bread idea is to place slices of banana on the top before baking. Very important, choose a firm banana. I sliced a banana lengthwise. I used 2 slices, one on one side and another on the other side. I used sugar powder but the design is good without sugar on the top too. Much more interesting appearance than without slices.
Here is the easiest banana bread recipe I ever made!
TIPS
1. Baking Banana Bread In Silicone Baking Pans
I put to test my silicone baking pan compare to metal olf fashion baking pan. It takes slightly less time in silicone but sides of bread not crispy like in the metal baking pan. So if you are looking for soft sides of your banana bread, consider using a silicone baking pan.
2. Banana Bread Is Great For Freezing
Banana bread is very good for freezing. I slice excess of my banana bread what I have left and freeze in a ziplock bag. I take out from the ziplock bag how many slices I needed. The rest of the slices I place back in the freezer for future use. A big difference makes if I add a cup of water in the microwave. The water makes banana bread so moisture and much better than without. I microwave one slice of banana bread for 30 seconds at first if not enough add more time. Serve with ice cream, sweetened condensed milk, or just sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Chopping pecans with a knife is a time-consuming process and messy at the same time. I tried to use my small electric processor, so hard to control the chopping process because of speed. I like the best use of a simple kitchen utensil vegetable chopper. Very easy to control the chopping process.
Tasty Banana Bread With Almond Flour
Here is the same banana bread recipe I tried with whole wheat and almond flour. The bread comes out good too, my family equally like this version of banana bread. Actually, not a big difference but almond flour gluten-free.
Make almond flour yourself (my direction has how to peel almonds) ⇒ How to Make Almond Flour From Scratch
I tried almond flour from the store and a good brand, but it is not so good as homemade. Homemade almond flour we can eat as is, for example on dessert. Store almond flour does not taste so great itself. I tried to bake with store-bought almond flour and can tell, it is a big difference.
- 3 very raip banana
- 1/3 cups melted butter (unsalted)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Cooking direction the same as the original recipe above.
